Precision Livestock Farming – Presented by Lenny van Erp-van der Kooij, HAS University of Applied Sciences at the Smart Farming Conference, which takes place on on June 28, 2018, in Venlo, The Netherlands.

With increasing farm sizes and more animals for the farmer to take care of, giving each individual animal the attention it needs is becoming more difficult. Precision Livestock Farming uses (sensor) technology to monitor the health and behaviour of all animals in the herd, thus assisting the farmer in his management. The purpose of this monitoring is to detect deviations from the expected values and improve animal health, animal welfare and efficiency of animal production. In this presentation Lenny van Erp will give an overview of current and upcoming technologies in precision livestock farming.
