What drives you?
My passion is to help farmers to succeed in the agroecological transition using the right tools and the good networks. There are big challenges today in agriculture where agroecology can fully bring responses at the economic, environmental and social levels. Our challenge is to scale up agroecology.

Why should the delegate attend your presentation?
To see the pertinence of agroecology for smart farming and an example of how technologies can help the agroecological transition

What emerging technologies/trends do you see as having the greatest potential in the short and long run?
Big changes will come from the good link between the farming actors. Those links will be created and strengthened via dedicated platforms. Another trend is the actual possibility to assess with precision the holistic impact of farming at each scale : the sustainability of the farm, the soil quality, the plant health, the nutritional food content. These accessibility of the measure will allowed a new pragmatic farming management.

What kind of impact do you expect them to have?
The massification of the sustainable farm production with a good citizen engagement

What are the barriers that might stand in the way?
To success in scale up we need :

  • good formation system
  • right bottom-up knowledge platform
  • right tools to measure to progress with an adapted collection time

Vincent Levavasseur (male), Executive Director, Working as market gardener for 5 years in his own farm. Develop the first vegetable farm installation without till and chemistry. Contribute on farmer based movement like Maraichage Sol Vivant, La Vache heureuse, Pour une agriculture du vivant, Carbone Fertile. He is leading many current projects to develop agroecology like massive open online courses on living soils, knowledge management in agroecology, quality measurement of soil and food.
